Problems In The GOP

So here we are in political limbo. No debates for awhile. Such a shame as they were always good for a laugh. However, I have been pondering issues related to the GOP. Are they being controlled and manipulated by small interest groups of far right extremists. Are candidates that run on the Republican ticket truly not Republicans? Think about Ron and Rand Paul, and you may. They are both self proclaimed Libertarians. Libertarians are a recognized party. So why are these two allowed to run as Republicans? Why do the Republicans allow this? Then, we have the Tea Party. It calls itself a party. It has its own caucus which does not always coincide with the Republican Platform. So why does the Republican Party recognize them? This party has given us a Nazi reenactor, a woman that owns part of a counseling center that isn't a psychologist plus an office holder that is acting like the new Joe McCarthy. I could go on with this ship of fools, however, like the Titanic it is sinking. That is the shame. These people want it their way or no way at all. It sounds like a spoiled child. So what happens now is that the GOP is left with a less than ideal candidate. Truly, he is boring. Charisma is needed by a President, and so is common sense. Lets talk about the elevator for cars. I really can see the need for one. I mean he has a zillion kids. La Jolla, has to be hard on parking, so why not. However, timing is everything. Why do this in the middle of an election when anything you do is going to be looked at critically. This makes me wonder about the people that surround the candidate. JFK said, to be a great President you need not be a great man, you only need to surround yourself with great men. So this is part of the problem. We also need a candidate that is willing to lead with compassion, empathy and the ability to bring people together not push them apart. I am sure possible candidates like this exist. We just haven't seen them. The Republicans also need to have a candidate and a position that tells pundits like Limbaugh that his actions and statements are not good for the party. When the Republicans find such people maybe they will have a new Lincoln or Reagan.
